Review Summaries
"Stanley Ipkiss (Jim Carrey) is a shy, introverted banker who allows other people to walk all over him. Then one night, after a disastrous attempt to enjoy a night out at a swanky new club, Stanley finds the mask of Loki, which, when worn, turns Stanley into the wild, cartoon-like Mask. As the Mask, he has the chance to get back at everyone who took advantage of him as Stanley, and even wins the interest of Tina (Cameron Diaz), the sexy new singer at Edge City's hottest nightclub. However, the Mask's antics gain the attention of an Edge City police detective and Dorian, Tina's boyfriend and a ruthless gangster. Stanley finds himself kidnapped by Dorian's men, who take his mask and then deliver him to the police. When Dorian plans to use the mask in his bid to take over Edge City's crime scene and blow up the nightclub, Stanley has to find a way to escape the police and reclaim the mask, so that he can thwart Dorian's plans and save Tina from the gangster's clutches."

"Stanley Ipkiss is a bank clerk who isn't very good at defending himself, and is always in the dumps. One night, after being kicked out of a jazzy night club, he sees a man drowning in the river. He jumps down to save him, but instead finds out it's just a regular old mask. When he puts the mask on, he transforms into a dancing, Genie-type superhero. Stanley soon falls in love with the night-club singer, Tina, and uses the mask to woo her. He also becomes more motivated, and has a detective going after him, but a mob boss wants to get the mask. Jim Carrey explodes in one of his best performances, but the same can't be said for the screenplay. The script is interesting when Stanley dones the mask, but when it's off nothing much happens, expect for him stuttering lines to Tina. I'm almost recommending this film for Carrey fans, and for the wonderful special effects."

"Jim Carrey plays Stanley Ipkiss, a man whose face turns green whenever he puts on a wooden mask. Stanley's love interest is portrayed beautifully by none other than Cameron Diaz. There are literally thousands of wacky effects in the movie, such as when Ipkiss turns into a wolf and whistles at the crowd while watching a jazz concert. Even his dog Milo wears the mask in one scene and saves Stanley!"

"Lonly banker Stanly Ipkiss (Carry) falls in love with a dancer (Diaz) who comes into his office. The problem is, she's the girlfriend of Dorian, a slick gangster. Stanly finds a strange mask in a river one night. He puts it on and transforms into a crazy, cartoonish, superpowered, green-headed loon who drives everyone crazy. Now, Dorian is out to get him for robbing a bank before him, and Stanly is wondering who's in control, him or the mask. Hilarious movie. "
