Review Summaries
"Roger and Ann (children of the now-adult Martha from Half Magic) discover they are spending the summer in Baltimore with their Aunt Katharine and their cousins Eliza and Jack, but for a very unfortunate reason - Roger and Ann's father is quite sick and needs to have an operation at the hospital in Baltimore. Roger collects lead soldiers, and on the way to the city has a strange encounter with one - the Old One - who promises him wishes if he earns them. What follows is a series of magical adventures, as the children travel back in time to a fantasy past in Roger's toy castle, which becomes alive and real. They explore the terrain in and around the castle, which changes every time they alter it, and search for good deeds that will earn their father's safe recovery. "
