Review Summary
Two groups of explorers are seperated and marroned by disaster on an ancient desert planet. One group must survive the harsh rigors of primitive life by wit and aide of a powerful alien device. The other, fleeing a despot commander, takes up residence in an abandoned alien city where any whim is granted. The character's lives are rich and real, their choices and the consequences unwittingly setting the roots of two new civilizations bound to yet alien from earth.
