Review Summaries
"Grey Murphy has lived his entire dull, dreary life seemingly without purpose. He is bored with the events going on and is desperate for a change. Then, under unusual circumstances, Grey meets Ivy, a princess from a strange, weirdly magical land called Xanth--or so Ivy believes. It is up to Ivy to convince Grey that magic does exist and the only way is to take him to her world. Ever the skeptic, Grey still refuses to believe, although Ivy shows him very common examples of magic that for some reason don't seem to work as they usually do. She tries to show him her magic talent, which all people in Xanth have, but the only magic she seems to be working on him is charm, and they start to fall in love. Unfortunately, if Ivy is a princess, and this world is as incredible as Ivy describes, then only way that Grey and Ivy can stay together is if he believes in the one thing he cannot possibly fathom: magic. "
Kate, Resident Piers Anthony Scholar

"Princess Ivy uses the Heaven Cent to find the lost Good Magician Humphrey and his family. But it takes her to Mundania, where she meets Grey. She likes him, so she tells him where she is from and who she is. He just thinks she's deluded, but he likes her too, so he agrees to go to Xanth with her."
Nikki Moon, Resident Piers Anthony Scholar

""There's nothing more exciting than a quest, especially for a young princess of Xanth who's bored with sitting around Castle Roogna. But when Ivy uses the Heaven Cent, it takes her not to the top of Mount Rushmost, where the winged monsters gather, nor to the sea where the merfolk swim--but to Mundania, a boring world (much like our own), where she meets a young college student so dull that he doesn't even believe in magic, or princesses, or Xanth! Does he ever have a lot to learn!" (descript. on back of book)"
Melissa G., Resident Piers Anthony Scholar

"Grey Murphy meets Ivy, a princess from the magical world of Xanth. Grey does not believe Ivy that she is from a magical world and that she is magical but soon, Grey finds out that reality is a whole different story. Grey falls in love with Ivy despite his disbelief and the adventures begins when Ivy takes Grey to Xanth."
Jose Olivera Jr., Resident Piers Anthony Scholar
