Review Summaries
"Another early Discworld novel, which takes place right after _The Colour of Magic_, finds a giant red star flying closer and closer to the planet while Rincewind, the world's worst wizard, tries desperately to get the Octavo's eighth spell out of his head and back into the magic book. Still accompanied by the world's first tourist, Twoflower, and his many-legged, carnivorous Luggage, Rincewind meets the legendary, 80-year-old Cohen the Barbarian and his 17-year-old girlfriend Bethan, who help our heroes battle bounty hunters, trolls, and other threats. They also visit the druids and learn about their cosmology, Death's adopted daughter Ysabell, the Horse People, and your typical magical shop. Meanwhile, a young wizard at Unseen University named Trymon is scheming to take over the world. Great fun, as always.
"A continuation of "The Colour of Magic", this book sees Rincewind and Twoflower, last seen falling over the Rim, on a desperate quest to keep wizards, bounty hunters and more-or-less everyone from getting the Spell out of Rincewind's head. Even with the Luggage and the legendary barbarian hero Cohen (now 80) on their side, it's going to be tough -- especially with a red star getting closer and closer to the World Turtle and the Discworld on her/his back
