"The earliest tale in the chronology of Discworld, this book tells of Twoflower, a tourist from Bes Palargic on the Counterweight Continent. Circumstances (mainly, the burning down of the Broken Drum tavern and much of the city of Ankh-Morpork) throw him together with Rincewind, the world's most inept wizard, and the two of them travel across the planet, introducing the reader to the Temple of Bel-Shamharoth (the Soul Eater), Wyrmberg (the upside-down mountain, where dragons live), and the very Rim of Discworld. They are pursued by Twoflower's Luggage, a carnivorous box with hundreds of feet and gnashing teeth. You are introduced to the Luggage, a temperamental, magical, ferocious, and mysterious chest with hundreds of tiny feet and a mind of its own. Because of Twoflower's naive and trusting ways, they get into plenty of tough situations that only Rincewind's clever mind and the Luggage's vicious loyalty to the tourist can get them out of.
