Review Summary
Celeste, Princess of the Springwood, meets the handsome knight Roel who is on a quest to rescue his sister from the evil Lord of the Changelings. They fall in love immediately, and Celeste joins Roel on his quest -- arguing that her archery and other skills will be useful, despite his protests, to accompany his enchanted sword Coeur d'Acier. They have only one phase of the moon to find and free Avelaine, or she is lost. So they set off across the mysterious lands of Faery.

Celeste and Roel are soon separated from their warband of Celeste's troops, as they flee across a shadowed boundary into another realm -- which happens to be an ocean, though fortunately they land on a ship. They battle with pirates to gain the map to the Changeling land. Along the way they must solve riddles and many challenges. They share equally in the danger; it is Celeste who slays the ogre Lothar, but Roel who defeats the guardian of the bridge.

Deep in the Changeling land, Celeste and Roel come at last to the tower where Avelaine is imprisoned. They interrupt the Changeling Lord in the midst of a dire spell.
