Review Summaries
"To boost Spacely Sprockets and Spindles' dropping profits, Mr. Spacely has set up a cost-effective manufacturing plant on a distant space station. It needs a Vice President to run it; someone loyal, cheap, not too bright, expendable, and able to push a button. George Jetson! The Jetsons pack and board their space car for their new home, Intergalactic Garden Estates. Teenage daughter Judy is crushed about leaving before her first date with rock star Cosmic Cosmo, but cheers up when she goes shopping at the Gallaxy Galleria finds a new boy, Apollo Blue. Young Elroy's disappointment at missing his spaceball playoffs lessens when his new home gives him an avalanche of toys and two new neighbor playmates - furry Fergie Furbelow, and robot Teddy 2, whose mother befriends Jane. And George loves having his own traffic-free skyway straight to work.
But all is not well at the plant. Vandals have been sneaking in at night to sabotage production. When George does his first button-press to get the fully automated plant going, sprockets fly, endangering onlookers. Mr. Spacely is infuriated, and threatens to fire him. But unlike the previous four Vice Presidents, George determines to fix the glitch. When his only co-worker, robot Rudy 2, discovers that the sprocket lockers have been unscrewed from the lock sprocket sockets, George goes to the plant at night to keep watch. Elroy secretly follows with his Detecto Kit, unintentionally luring his friends and his mother and sister. They rescue George from the saboteurs - Grungies, cute little furry creatures whose underground city is threatened by the plant's drilling. If George defies Mr. Spacely to save the Grungies' home, will he lose his job? "
