Review Summaries
"This is the eighth book in the Dragon Knight series. This installment of the Dragon Knight series sees Jim Eckert and his Companions teaming up with the legendary Knights of the Round Table to save the mythical land of Lyonesse from being conquered by Morgan le Faye and Jim's old adversary, the Earl of Cumberland. Jim Eckert, the Dragon Knight, learn that the mythical, undersea land of Lyonesse (book #7) is under attack by an army of surface-dwellers. Jim, Sir Brian, Dafydd, and Hob travel to the Drowned Land, a kingdom bordering Lyonesse. Because Carolinus is still recovering from his ordeal in the Gnarly kingdom, Jim is aided by KinetetE, one of the other three most powerful mages in the world. He and his friends are warned that they must depart Lyonesse in time, or they will be trapped there forever. Dafydd, a prince in the Drowned Land, is delayed there while he works to settle internal strife and protect the Drowned Land's new king, so Jim, Sir Brian, and Hob continue on to Lyonesse. With the help of the legendary Questing Beast and advice from Merlin, the two travel across Lyonesse, trying to find out more about the invading force. They discover that the invasion is headed by Jim's old adversary, the Earl of Cumberland (book #2 and #7) and Agatha Falon (book #5 and #7), allied with Morgan le Fay and Modred. Jim and his Companions must gather together the original Knights of the Round Table, helped by Drowned Land archers and the animals and Old Magic of Lyonesse itself, to fight Cumberland's army of outlaws. But it has been centuries since the legendary knights have seen true combat, and they may all need the help of King Arthur himself to save Lyonesse and its magic from being destroyed. "
