Review Summaries
" Melody McClean, champion monster fighter from the realm known as the Shadowverse, is sent to Charles Gosgrove's Inn at Lighthouse Hill, NY, to investigate a ghost sighting and a bizarre death. Her friends Stu and Phil have already disappeared en route to the Lighthouse. Melody and her friend Jason soon learn that there are sinister forces at work at the Lighthouse trying to prevent them from learning its secrets. Along the way, Melody befriends Cosgrove's estranged son Mark, and together they try to unravel the mystery of Cosgrove's past. Melody learns that giant spiders have been sent by a supernatural force to protect the portrait of an unknown little girl, and they have killed whoever has gone near it. Meanwhile, Melody's friend Crystal searches for Stu and Phil, and their leader, Steven, learns that one of his own superiors, a Cosmic Power, may have betrayed them. This is the second of a series of adventures featuring Melody McClean and the Shadowers, following on from "A Stirring of Shadows." "
