Review Summaries
"During a plutonium bomb test in the Nevada desert, a stray plane crashes near the test site. Lt. Col. Glenn Manning (Langan) runs out from his shelter to save whoever's in the plane and gets caught in the bomb blast. He shields his eyes, but he's badly burned over the rest of his body and loses most of his vital fluids. When both have been replenished, Manning starts to grow -- at the rate of 8 to 10 feet a day! His fiancee Carol Forrest (Downs) tries to care for him while Dr. Paul Lindstrom (Hudson) works on a cure. Unfortunately, since the human heart consists of only one cell (as someone explains!), it won't be able to keep up with his increasing size. His mind is also going. Eventually, he goes on a rampage across Nevada, carrying Carol Kong-like in his hand, and escaping the giant hypodermic needle the scientists try to use on him (and in fact impaling one of them with it). The story climaxes at Boulder Dam. This 1957 Bert Gordon film tries to address scientific and emotional issues of radiation poisoning, but has a lot of silliness."
