Review Summaries
"Raggity is a girl who is ill-treated by her father, and made to work scrubbing the floors and cleaning the windows all the time. She lives in a kingdom where there is no rain, and very little water. One day, a cloud who has run away from his mother comes to Raggity looking for help: if the cloud does not find water soon, it will die! After her initial shock at seeing a cloud (Raggity has never seen anything like it before), she agrees to help the cloud find some water. Raggity and the Cloud enlist the help of many animals, birds and other creatures, most notably, a toad. They all counsel Raggity to go and meet the king and ask for his help. But the king turns out to be an evil man: he has gallons and gallons of water hidden in a vast tank under his palace, which he has taken away from his people, and now he wants to kill the cloud. So Raggity and her friends race against time to find enough water to keep the cloud alive, and also to keep the cloud safe from the king. "
