Review Summaries
"Edward Douglas (Thewlis), a UN employee, survives a plane crash in the Java Sea, is picked up by a ship and taken to an uncharted island where Dr. Moreau (Brando) conducts his experiments in combining human and animal DNA. Also on hand are Montgomery (Kilmer), a junkie neurologist who monitors the hormone-and-endorphin regimen of the various inhabitants of the island, and the gorgeous Aissa (Balk), who turns out to be Moreau's most successful transformation. This 1996 spectacle is vivid and bloody, with plenty of memorable bits, but it is ultimately incoherent."
