Review Summaries
"Brain researchers Dr. Michael Brace (Walken) and colleague Dr. Lillian Reynolds (Fletcher), toiling for many years together, have made an amazing breakthrough with a brain-scanning helmet. The brain memory reading and recording capabilities of this revolutionary device they have invented does not go unnoticed by sinister boss Alex Terson (Robertson) who is planning to turn over the device to the military, which has funded the project in secret. The military plans to put the device to use for brainwashing and indoctrination. Reynolds has a heart attack while working on the project alone and manages to record her death on the machine. Terson takes the tape and Dr. Brace is outraged by the breach of ethics. Despite their shaky marriage, wife Karen (Wood) helps him to recover the tape and keep the helmet out of the hands of the military by sabotaging the project. Dr. Brace is able to experience what happens after death via the brain scan recorder by playing the tape of the late Dr. Reynold's incredible journey to the afterlife for himself. Karen Brace pulls her husband back from the brink of death as he gets too engrossed in the device."
