Review Summaries
"As the war rages on into 1944, city after city explodes into radioactive firestorms in a tit-for-tat exchange between the Soviet Union, the United States, and Nazi Germany on one side, and the Race on the other. These lizard-like alien invaders are trying desperately to preserve as much of the planet's surface as possible for colonization. But they may be forced to choose between destroying every living thing on Earth to protect their Empire, or calling a cease-fire, and negotiating a brand new balance, one that will take them through the next 20 years. Once the cease-fire is called however, they find it's not so easy to get the various human governments to agree over what territories belong to which nation. Particularly Poland, which the Nazis refuse to let go of. They threaten to detonate a nuclear bomb hidden in Poland. So it's up to an unlikely alliance between a German tank commander, the Jewish guerrilla Mordechai Anielwicz, and a female Red Air Force pilot to save the day. "
