| Review Summary |
Everything is peaceful until somehow, people seems to be turning into undead zombies. Several survivors meet up, and end up taking refuge in a nearby shopping mall. The dead find them, and wait outside the mall in mass numbers.
After hiding out in the mall for awhile, they realize that staying there like sitting ducks isn't going to help them in the long run. They decide they must make a run for it.
So, they head out into the streets in an attempt to make it to the marina, and drive away in a boat, but obviously, it is not an easy trip there.

Ana (Sarrah Polley) comes home from her shift at the hospital and cuddles with her husband. When she wakes up her hubby is savagely attacked by their daughter and he becomes a zombie nearly instantly. Her struggle to get away leads to the best shot of the movie of her husband running after her as she is driving away and when she becomes to far out of reach, he turns hard to attack a neighbor. Ana then crashes her car and is found by Kenneth (Ving Rhames). Together they run into a group of people and they all decide it would be best to hold up in the mall. The prerequisite stuggle between the characters ensues until they all decide to make a run for it.

A nurse returns home after a long shift, falling asleep next to her boyfriend. The next morning, the girl next door stands in their bedroom, and viciously attacks her boyfriend, killing him. That is until her boyfriend sits up and tries to attack her as he is now one of the undead himself. She manages to escape, and meets up with a group of survivors, who decide to seek refuge in the local mall. The characters are trapped inside while the army of zombies stand outside, waiting for the survivors, who must at some point decide how they will escape.
