Review Summary
The lower part of the Spine of the World is under assault by a horde of giants and orcs seeking to conquer the region, and the dwarven cities are too busy competing with one another to notice the danger in the mountains. Bruenor, a dwarf, is about to become king of Mithral Hall, and his friends, among them Drizzt, agree to escort him to his new realm. However, they are drawn into the increasingly bloody war against the giants and orcs, and ultimately find themselves fighting a brutal siege in wake of massacres carried out by the horde. However, it seems that greater powers are coming to be involved in the struggle, and the Hunters' Blade series gets off to a good start with this installment.
