Review Summary
In England During World War II, three children Charlie, Paul and Carrie are sent to live with Eglantine Price in the countryside. When they find out she is actually an apprentice witch, they blackmail her into giving them something magical- a bedknob which is actually a travelling device. This is soon called into use when they must travel to London to find Emelius Browne, the headmaster of Eglantine's witchcraft academy who has stopped the course just when Eglantine was half-way through a very important spell. On learning that the second half of the spell is missing the five of them go on adventure to locate it, travelling to the backstreets of london, a football match on a remote island and even a trip under the sea! When they find the spell Eglantine must perform it and prove her worth in the war effort.
