Review Summaries
" The movie starts out with the seven year old Evan. The first important thing you find out about him is that his dad is in a mental hospital. The next important thing you find out is that he experiences blackouts during important events in his life. He and his friend (who is a girl) are at her fathewr's house when he makes a movie of them with their clothes off. Evan blacks out during this. Then the movie goes to when he's thirteen. He and his friends kill two people by accident and one friend ends up in the hospital. Evan doesn't remember this either. He moves away, leaving his childhood sweetheart behind. Then the movie goes to when he is 20. He hasn't had any blackouts for 7 years, but when he reads the journals he has kept since his first blackout, he finds out that he can go back in time and change the past, specifically, the terrible events that he blacked out for. Each time he changes one thing he comes back later to find everything has changed, most of the time for the worse."

"THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT is a film written and directed by Eric Bress and J. Mackye Gruber in 2003.
From his childhood on, Evan Treborn suffers from blackouts when he has to face a stressful situation. At the age of 20, he discovers that, by reading his personal diary, he's able to go back into the past and alter it. But the butterfly effect implies that a small change in the past can cause huge changes later. So, each time Evan alters the past, the new reality produced is worse than the precedent. Obsessed by the idea of rearranging the reality, Evan will definitively lose Kayley Miller, the love of his life, and finally understand why his father and his grandfather have died in a mental institution."

"In this amazing film Ashton Kutcher suffers from a rather annoying medical condition where he constantly blocks out important information from the movie's viewers, at least until a shocking turn of events cause him to find a way back into those blackouts and see what really happened. Then he can change his present by changing the past. However continually changing the past brings horrible consiquences to his present, in one such instant he awakes to find his arms and legs gone, and his girlfriend in love with another. This movie does what few others have; taking a great idea and then making a great movie. If constant flashbacks and plot changes confuse you avoid this movie because you must be able to process lots of changes to appreciate the outcome. Overall would recommend this movie to anyone with above average intelligence, you decide if I'm talking to you."
