| Review Summary |
VIRUS is a movie directed by John Bruno in 1999.
Donald Sutherland and his crew manage to reach the eye of the typhoon Leia in the middle of the South Pacific ocean in order to examine the condition of their ship. There, they find a Russian scientific boat which seems abandoned. Once on board of this ship, they are attacked by robots built by an alien intelligence. The members of the group will be killed one by one by those robots.

Donald Sutherland and Jamie Lee Curtis lead a team of tugboat operators. They get caught in a storm and lose their tow. Sutherland stands to lose thousands and he will probably have to declare bankruptcy. But when the storm calms they find a large Russian scientific ship that is drifting. No one seems to be aboard. This could save the captain, as he could make millions in salvage operations on this technical ship. But something stands in his way. Somehow aliens have taken over the ship--an alien made of electrical current, that needs computers to live. The tugboat operators soon find themselves fighting robotic alien life forms to stay alive.
