Review Summaries
"In the future, the world is divided into Simes, who must take energy to live, and Gens, who produce that energy. Only a channel may take energy from Gens safely and transfer it to other Simes without fear of causing the death of the Gen. Ercy Farris, a young channel, learns that some channels can do more than that. She discovers that with the help of a roomate, she can create effects thought to be in the realm of magic--moving objects by thought and energy alone, starting fires, even teleportation. Her cousin Rellow, who bears grudge toward her, would like the world to consider her a witch. And who is Halimer Grant, the alluring Gen with no paper trail to whom she is inexorably drawn, and whose energy field has properties seen in no other Gen donor?"
Donna MacGonegal, Resident Jacqueline Lichtenberg Scholar
