Review Summaries
"I have not read any of the other books in this series but this book can stand alone. I am a Star Trek Fan but mostly of the Next Generation. The crew of the Enterprise must protect a colony which has discovered a very powerful energy source more precious than dilithium crystals. Aliens want the resources for themselves so they fire a hi density laser which can incinerate the planet. It up to Kirk and company to save the day. Very little suspense because Kirk always saves the day. Its a pretty good read since most people are familiar with the characters."
