Review Summaries
"Based on a H.G. Wells novel, VILLAGE OF THE GIANTS is a movie co-written, produced and directed by Bert I. Gordon in 1965. California. Ron Howard, a genius kid, discovers a chemical product that, when eaten, makes living things grow to a giant size. Soon, a dog, a cat, a spider and some ducks astonish the people of the town by their size. Out of towner Beau Bridges and his group of friends steal the product and eat it. As giants, they want to rebel against the adult world but, in fact, create only a tyrannical society where the normal people must serve them. Meanwhile, Ron Howard is desperately looking for an antidote to the dangerous product and some teens of the village organize the rebellion against the new tyrants."
Daniel Staebler, Resident Scholar
