"A pig herder (Taran) dreams of becoming a great warrior. His chance comes when he discovers one of his pigs has magical visions that a evil monster/person called the Horned King wants to use to find the Black Cauldron. If the Horned King finds it he will unleash terrible powers on the earth. Taran sees this as a chance to become a great warrior, with the help of a princess, musician and a weird furry creature he must defeat the Horned King. Taran becomes a great warrior but finds that friendship and loyalty are much more important. "

"Long ago in medieval England there a young boy and his special friend: a pig. But this was no ordinary pig. It was a magical pig. When its snout was submerged in a pool of water, the clairvoyant pig projected images of its psychic visions on the water's surface. With an awesome pig like that the kid could've moved up the social ladder a bit by touring with a traveling circus or cheating at dog racing or finding the Black Cauldron and raising an army of skeletal corpses and taking over the world. But it was never to be. This evil Horned King sends his flying minions to snag the pig so he can find the Black Cauldron and raise up an army of skeletal corpses and take over the world. Thank goodness that spunky kid has such a deep and abiding love for the pig that he decides to rescue it. On the way to rescue the pig the boy meets a pesky critter named Gurgi who befriends him, steals his last morsel of food and abandons him in his moment of need at the castle of the Horned King. The boy is instantly chucked into the dungeon and meets a spunky princess with a flying light blob. Together they rescue the pig, and Gurgi, overcome by remorse for being such a jerk, sacrifices his life to save the day. But, of course, he doesn't die; this is a Disney flick we're talking about. Regrettably, the animation is hardly up to Disney standards and the characters never really get developed, but it does have a cute bunnies in the forest scene and the Horned King and company are kind of creepy."
