"Jay Seward is a psychiatrist who allows himself to be a guinea pig for a technique for uncovering buried memories. The experiment goes too deep and uncovers things that should have stayed buried. Jay Seward fings himself answering a call he's never been aware of, and he becomes Jason (as in, Jason and the Argonauts). He believes he's been taken backwards in time. In this new place and time, two groups want him. The priests of Apollo want him to lead them to the young Circe, who is born to take up the mask of Circe and become the Circe. In this time, the original Circe is dead, but certain women can wear the mask of Circe and call her up again. The other group that wants him is those who worship Hecate. Jay Seward has to figure out what's going on and what side he wants to be on before it's too late for him.
