Review Summaries
"Second novel in a series: an ongoing saga of futuristic action, adventure, and romance. Six Earthyears after the annihilation of Signe's envoys' ship on a lock in the Columbian capital, the stalemated war between two highly intelligent, patriotic world leaders drags on. Signe believes that Arlen ordered her emissaries to his world blasted; he believes that she sent two fanatics to assassinate him. Galt, the perpetrator of the heinous crime who escaped drawing any suspicion upon himself, plots Arlen's downfall. Well aware of his danger, the Commander-in-Chief mounts a campaign to trap his power-hungry rival. The Columbian world leader eliminates one potent danger to his hold on power, only to find that another looms. In a brilliant maneuver, the master of intrigue uses a clever, self-serving, discontented military subordinate to lead him to Signe as she seeks the Flagship: Johann's long-lost mobile stronghold. When Signe and Arlen finally meet, their interaction leads to wholly unforeseen consequences that radically alter the lives of both gallant archfoes. "
