Review Summary
Ten years after getting Jedi training, Anakin is now a bona-fide Jedi knight. Sent on a mission to guard the counciler woman, and his love interest, Padme Amidala. Meanwhile, his trainer, Obi-Wan si trying to figure a clone mission. Anakin, and Padme then have a forbidden kiss, which they feel guilty. Anakin also goes back to his home planet to look for her dead mother. Now, a war has started, and Anakin has to risk Padme's life for the world.

Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones is another installment of the Star Wars saga bringing in elements of transformation to young Anakin Skywalker. His transition from innocence to evil is present as he fights off enemy adversaries as well as his feelings for Senator Padmé Amidala. Rivalry between Master Obi-Wan Kenobi also fuels the fire in the merging of Skywalker to Vader as the party fights against the evil Count Dooku, while Palpatine stands in the wings.

Ten years after the events in "Phantom Menace," Padme Amidala is no longer queen of Naboo but a Senator to the Galactic Republic. An attempt to assassinate her alerts the Republic to plots beneath the surface; young Jedi-in-training Anakin Skywalker and his teacher Obi-Wan Kenobi are assigned to protect her. Skywalker eventually returns with her to Naboo, then goes hunting for his mother on Tatooine. Kenobi searches the far end of the galaxy to uncover a plot involving a clone army ordered by a Sith lord who may control the Senate. Though there are great action sequences and new worlds realized in CGI, the dialogue in this movie, and much of the acting, is pathetic. Compared to the earlier Star Wars movie, the characterizations have gone thin, and the humor is rare and lame. Nobody besides McGregor seems to be having much fun. The technical aspects are still a worthwhile sight, however.

Episode II of Star Wars see's young apprentice Jedi, Anakin Skywalker coming of age during the powerplays and struggles of governments in the now disintergrating Republic. Against this backdrop we see his search for identity and his inner struggle between good and evil being played out with the added difficulty of coping with his special powers as a Jedi. In addition he is given the responsibility of guarding Senator (formerly Queen) Amidala of Naboo whom he is hopelessly and overwhelmingly in love with. Meanwhile his Jedi Master, Obi Wan Kenobi uncovers the plot to use cloning technology to create an army to defend the Republic against an army of droids created by the Sith (the Dark Side's jedi's). Once this is revealed and the Senate approves the use of the clone armies it's time to make good on the movie's title! And when it come to computer graphics and animation AOTC really shines. The action sequences in this installment are some of the best. And while the plot is quite complex and filled with every Star Wars cliche immaginable the over all effect is a highly entertaining good old fashioned action/adventure plus some insight into the main characters, making a more than satisfactory addition to the unfolding Star Wars saga.

The Jedi are out in force, and this is an all-action adventure with an actual storyline this time. The Dark side is growing, and the Jedi Council is concerned that they cannot see the future, even as they cannot discern the enemy clearly. Obi-Wan and his accolyte, Anakin Skywalker, are on bodyguard detail to the young and beautiful princess-senator, and are pushed to their limits. Obi-Wan seeks a hidden planet where, much to the Jedis' surprise, a clone army awaits their bidding. Anakin is left to develop his close bodyguarding techniques with the senator, visits his mother once more, but has to ride into action to rescue his master, who is captured investigating the planet of the rebel robot army, the little gadabout. The rescue goes wrong and the Jedi are strung up in the execution arena to fight the hungry aliens set loose finish them off in grand style for the pleasure of the crowd. The young Boba Fett sees his father killed by the Jedi in the meleé. Even Obi-Wan and Anakim combined cannot defeat Duko of the Dark side, and only Yoda's Force Duel and light sabre (yes, he has one, and it's green) save their lives. The rebel robot army take on the clones in the big battle finish. The Force will be with you and you will probably forget to eat your popcorn.
Michael JR Jose, Resident Scholar

This is the sequel to The Phantom Menace and is much better in almost every way. Padme (played by Natalie Hershlag) is under attack from assassins and must be protected by Anakin Skywalker, who is now in his late teens. There are a series of exciting chases in Coruscant and in space, and battles with Jango Fett and robots. Even Samuel L. Jacksenobi gets to do some slicing this time.

In The Phantom Menace, the slow part was in the middle watching Anakin interact with Hershlag, and in this movie it's the same thing. Their lovey-doveyness slows down the story for a while but it picks up with a good battle at the end.
