Review Summary
Carrie White is the girl no one likes and everybody makes fun of. One day, she menstruates for the first time in the shower and her classmates throw Tampaxes at her, screaming "Plug it up!" But on the same day, her hidden power of telekinesis comes to her. She is invited to the Prom by one of her classmates' boyfriend (with the girl's consent), but another girl, who refused detention and can't go to the Prom, prepares a horrible prank; a bucket of pig's blood to throw on Carrie's head as she is elected Prom Queen. But she has already been tormented by her mother, and unleashes her power with ferocity...
marcus, Resident Scholar

The tragic life of high school student Carrie White comes to a head when she has her first period in gym class and is humiliated by her peers. Her mother doesn't make life much easier for Carrie when she locks her in a closet for hours. Everybody treats Carrie like a rag mop, but what they don't know is that she has telekinetic abilities that are growing stronger every day.
Timothy Patrick Kirby, Resident Scholar

Carrie is a teenager constantly mocked by her colleagues and mistreated by her mother, a religion fanatic, psycothic and cruel. Things seem to change when she finds out she has telekinetic powers and when schooljock Tommy Ross invites her to the prom. At the prom, after a moment of happiness, a cruel prank will lead Carrie into a tragic massacre towards her opponnents and her mother. A 70's teen horror cult film, still very effective nowadays, directed by Brian de Palma
