Review Summary
Fantastic Planet is directed by Rene Laloux of Light Years fame. The cartoon is mostly concerned with showing the planet and not as much with the plot. The plot concerns the life of pet human (called an om) and his fight to show his owners (called Traags) that humans are intelligent capable beings. This perogative leads him to an ant-like colony of humans who live in the aliens park and these people he eventually leads to victory.
The end of the film has the rather discouraging view, however, that the two race can never live peaceably together.
