Review Summaries
"Sceamers is set on a planet outside our solar system where the remnants of two warring industrial entities find themselves essentially cut off from civilization. Timing devices have been rigged to destroy the planet. The protagonist races across a deserted landscape in an attempt to find an escape ship in the opposition's stronghold. In order to do this he must face and escape a number of deadly miniature machines along the way. This is an "edge of your seat" thriller based on a short story by Phillip K. Dick."

"SCREAMERS, based on philip K. Dick's novelette "Second Variety", is a movie directed by Christian Duguay in 1985. Sirius 6B in the year 2078. For ten years now, there is a nuclear war going on between the economic giant organisation that has discovered a new energy on Sirius -the berylium- and the Alliance, composed of miners and scientists, who refuses to work because of the dangerous radiations coming from Sirius soil. Peter Weller, a former miner turned soldier in the Alliance forces, is hidden with his men in a bunker. The Alliance has developed a generation of aggressive robots -the screamers- which stay underground and can attack by surprise the soldiers of the N.B.E., the economical power. One day, a soldier of the N.B.E. brings a peace message to Weller but is killed by a screamer before being able to speak. Weller decides to meet the enemy forces and begins a long journey through the devastated star in the company of a young rookie. They soon discover that the screamers have by themselves built new varieties of robots, in fact humanoids, which aren't controlled by the Alliance anymore. At the end of the journey, they reach the enemy headquarters, destroyed by the screamers, and find there Jessica, a smuggler, and two soldiers who have survived the massacre. They all decide to come back to the alliance bunker only to find it also destroyed by the screamers. Furthermore, planet Earth doesn't seem to care anymore about Sirius since it has been discovered Berylium on another planet. A little sci-fi pearl."
