Personal Bio: 'Born Cannock, Staffordshire, UK. Currently living in Dunfermline, Scotland. English, but with Welsh connections. Otherwise known as "SuperBrit". I'm a born eccentric, the type that builds full-scale models of the "Titanic" out of used lager cans (and with the same end result!). I am a devoted Dr Who fan since 1963 when it hit our TV screens in glorious monochrome. In my heyday, I did much travelling. Favourite Countries: Spain (Barcelona, Pamplona, Jerez de la Frontiera ) and Sweden (Stockholm, Malmo and Jonkopping), plus The Netherlands (Amsterdam, Delft and Alkmaar). You need to love Edam cheese at Alkmaar, because it is a huge cheese market and there is a strong ambience of cheese across the market square. Sports: Cricket is in an Englishman's blood and the happiest sound to us is the that of bat on ball, and the blood-curdling scream of an Australian batsman as his head is decapitated by a short rising ball from Andy Flintoff! Main interests are Football (Manchester City FC, Barcelona, England), cricket (Lancashire CCC and England), Tennis (Rafael Nadal, Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario, Chris Evert, Rod Laver).Amongst my many eccentric interests (apart from my obscession with Nyssa) are as a bus enthusiast (Guy Arabs, Leyland PD2/2 Park Royal bodied, Leyland Leopard, Marshall bodied and Dennis Javelin coaches). I don't hate the railways, but only like the Mallard, the fastest steam locomotive which is on display at the York Railway Museum. I'm also fascinated by TV test cards, test signals, tuning signals and idents, interested in the history and development of the medium. Not that I ignore good old radio. To summarise what motivates me : I am a deep thinker and philosiphiser {the stoic branch). I have no faith in free-market economics, believing in strong government intervention to protect consumers and small investors from executive commercial greed (Enron should have been an alarm signal. It is greed in that Company that led to it's demise and the loss of hundreds of jobs). The current financial crises are due to excessive money-grabbing by some company executives. Another pet hate is gimmicky and non-words like "dork". What the hell does THAT mean? Regrets? Many lost opportunities, I suppose. Despite coming from a musical family (my late father and paternal grandfather were both accomplished cellists) I could never master a musical instrument myself. I would love to have been able to play the clarionet, one of my favourite instruments. Another regret is not exploiting my talent for languages. Favorite indentures: It's no secret by now, that I am totally besotted with Nyssa (Sarah Sutton), but have certain desires on Lalla Ward (a real aristocrat, The Honourable Lady Sarah Ward)/ Romana 2 and Elisabeth Sladen/Sarah-Jane Smith. I have other favourites but I would rather not divulge them here for obvious reasons. Comments on other players: Hostile and controverial comments used to be included in this section, but I'm trying to be more serene and let others see how evil some players can be for themselves.
