Review Summary
Doug Kinney is a contractor who doesn't have enough time to do his work well and attend to the needs of his wife and two kids. One day a scientist offers to clone him. Doug No. 2 takes over his job and does it well, but after a month Doug feels overloaded by housework and child care. So Doug No. 3 is brought in to run the house. There's even a "special" Doug No. 4. It's quite a chore juggling all these Dougs between house and home, and wife Laura gets very puzzled and eventually moves out. Keaton does a marvelous job playing all four roles and giving them distinctive personalities. MacDowell gracefully plays the straight man but has less to do and must act stupider than she really should be. A few great laughs and some anxious moments make for a decent comedy with quite a bit of heart.

Contractor Doug Kinny (Keaton)has no time on his hands, so an eccentric scientist offers to clone him. Doug makes Number 2 do his job for him (Which 2 does better, faster, and stronger). Doug makes Number 3 to help with the family (Which works because 3 is very prissy). Number 4 was made behind Doug's back (with the best intentions, of course). Number 4 is, well, "He's special. We made a copy from 2 and, well, you know when you make a copy of a copy it doesn't turn out quite as sharp as the original". Doug must keep his wife (McDowall) and his kids from finding out about the clones! Really a comedy, the "All-Four-in-the-Same-Room-at-the-Same-Time" effects are awesome. For a classic comedy moment, watch Number 4!
