Review Summaries
"This is Steven Spielberg's first disaster. The first Jurassic Park was an entertaining and intelligent film, while the sequel is down-right stupid. Everyone decides to return to Jurassic Park to attempt it one more time. Soon, they bring the dinosaurs to San Diego, where the reptiles destory the city, King Kong-style. Spielberg takes away all the wonderfulness of his previous films to create a violent, blood-wrenching gore-fest. The special effects are great, but that's it for this disappointing sequel. "

"Four years after the spectacular failure of Jurassic Park on Isla Nublar, magnate John Hammond (Attenborough) reveals to Dr. Ian Malcolm (Goldblum) that his company, InGen Bioengineering, bred dinosaurs on a separate "Site B," the island of Isla Sorna 87 miles south of the first island. He would like a scientific team to visit the new site and simply photograph and record the behavior of the dinosaurs in their natural habitat without otherwise disturbing them. Malcolm will not willingly go until Hammond reveals that Malcolm's girlfriend, the paleontogolist Dr. Sarah Harding (Moore) is already on the island. For Malcolm, the trip becomes merely a rescue mission. Unfortunately, Hammond's nephew Peter Ludlow (Howard), has convinced InGen's board of directors to wrest control from its founder and send a team to trap a Tyrannosaurus Rex and bring it back to a theme park in San Diego. Along with the second team comes big game hunter Roland Tembo (Postlethwaite), who wants to bag a T. Rex. After various deaths and misadventures on the island, the corporation succeeds in bringing a T. Rex back to San Diego, where it breaks loose and wreaks some havoc. The second film in the series (1997), also directed by Steven Spielberg and based on a Michael Crichton novel, improves on the dinosaur graphics and action, but is not any better as a story."

"When Dr. Ian Malcolm, survivor of the original Jurassic Park incident, is told that his former girlfriend is on Site B (island where dinosaurs used to be grown and bred), he gets a group together to go and rescue her. But when there, things get a bit more complicated and now they're running for their lives from the dinosaurs!"
AJ, Resident Jurassic Park Scholar

"This film is your basic monster movie. Though there are several differences from the book, it was very well captured. This movie is a movie for the thrill seeker. This film is not very suitable for the younger audience. I would read the book after the movie due to some of the differences."
