Review Summaries
"Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) is a recovering alcoholic who accepts a job as the winter caretaker of the Overlook Hotel for six months. He brings his wife (Shelley Duvall) and son Danny (Danny Lloyd) to the isolated hotel where Danny finds out he has a special power from cook Dick Halloran (Scatman crothers). The rest of the movie shows Jack's descent into madness as the evil in the Hotel overtakes his mind. "
Bobby Blades, Resident Scholar

"A Writer, his wife, and son, agree to take care of a hotel on the off-season, however the father begins to go insane due to the ghosts in the hotel. Now his family must escape before it is too late."
Jack Bauer, Resident Scholar

"Another long, scary film from the King of Horror, Stephen King. The shining is about a family who have a series of their own problems, alcoholism, loss of employment, and a young boy with the gift of the shining! Through chance or destiny they are lead to The Overlook Hotel to fullfill the position of caretaker during the winter seasons. A new opportunity for the Torrance's to put their lifes back together! But the Hotel has other ideas. The movie goes for over 4 hours but was worth the time as you really become caught up in King's imagination."
Nancy Ferrinda, Resident Scholar

"Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall, and their psychic kid are caretakers for the Overlook hotel somewhere up north in the blizzardy mountains. The little boy sees things in the hallways of the hotel and is scared by visiting ghosts of murdered kids. The father, Nicholson, develops cabin fever and tries to kill his own family with an axe."
Jake Jensen, Resident Scholar
