" 11-year-old Harry Potter lives with his Aunt Petunia,Uncle Vernon, and cousin Dudley Dursley on Number 4, Privet Drive. They are very cruel to him and make him sleep under the stairs and do many chores. Strange things tend to happen when Harry is upset, and he does not understand why his aunt and uncle blame him.
Then letters start coming to Harry, but for some strange reason Vernon destroys them. Finally, Vernon takes is family to a shack on a rock at sea, trying to escape from the mysterious notes.
Rubeaus Hagrid, a kind half-giant and gamekeeper at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, led by Albus Dumbledore. It turns out that Harry's parents, supposely killed in a car crash, were really a witch and wizard murdered by Lord Voldemort. However, when Voldemort tried to kill Harry, his power was nearly detroyed.
Now Harry Potter will go to Hogworts.

"Harry Potter discovers he's a wizard when a giant named Hagrid batters down the door. He goes away to a school of magic, Hogwarts, and the first parts of the film are focused on Harry's discovering this new world - studying potions and broomstick riding, learning a magical sport, meeting teachers and befriending the other main protagonists, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. But things start to go wrong, with unknown villains seeking access to a hidden chamber guarded by a three-headed dog. After some research, the heroes discover that the chamber contains the Philosopher's Stone, which can provide access to eternal life. They have to find their way through various puzzles and traps to reach the chamber for a final showdown with a villain whose identity is one of the mysteries of the film. This magical adventure is mainly aimed at children."

"This Movie is a fantastic adaptation of J.K. Rowling's Novel, "Harry Potter and the Philospher's stone" A liitle bit on the long side, but transposed the writtern book to film beautifully. A story of a boy, who learns that he is a wizard and sets of for wizard school and new adventures. Learns of his past, parents and the scar on his forehead. All kids should watch this movie."

"This sticks fairly closely to the book, so I won't reveal the plot which would let the secret out on two things at once. It's OK. It is also very British and a bit old-fashioned to my way of thinking, so probably not a box office smash then. At two-and-a-half hours long, you probably need to be over ten years old to sit it out. If you are an adult, sneak a four-pack in with you and take the taxi home."
