Review Summaries
"Something is rotten in the Kingdom of Lancre. The previous king, Verence, has died under suspicious circumstances, and his cousin Duke Felmet and the mountainous and obnoxious duchess have taken the throne. Fortunately, the true heir, a boy of two, has been stolen away and adopted out to a troupe of itinerant actors, and three witches -- old Granny Weatherwax, bibulous and bawdy Nanny Og, and youthful New-Ager Magrat Garlick -- have decided to meddle in earthly politics to set things right. "
David Loftus, Resident Terry Pratchett Scholar

"On the discworld, the kingdom of Lancre has been taken over by a somewhat unhinged tyrant. The three wyrd sisters - Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg and Magrat Garlic realize that the land is not happy with its current ruler, and that something will have to be done. Their plan, to reinstate the king's natural heir by moving the kingdom 15 years into the future so that the lad will be old enough, is an ambitious one, but it just might work....A wonderful parody of "Macbeth" with a fair amount of fairy story thrown in for good measure. "
Bryn Pearson, Resident Terry Pratchett Scholar

"When the King of Lancre dies and the throne goes to an inappropriate ruler, Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg, and Magrat, three witches, fight back. If you've read Macbeth, you know the plot - but this is hysterically funny, as well. "
Ivy, Resident Terry Pratchett Scholar

"Trhree witches use common sense rather than magic to save a kingdom from an evil duchess. Terry Pratchett always makes me smile."
rose mallon, Resident Terry Pratchett Scholar
