Review Summary
Based on a short story, "The Last Testament," by Carol Amen, this film covers the slow death of a suburban community after a nuclear war, centering around one family. The community attempts to adapt, but resources become scarce, people start dying off, and there appears to be no hope. The ending does, however, avoid absolute fatalism. This is a very low-key, serious, somber, depressing movie, not to say that it is bad, merely that it is very effective.
