Review Summaries
"Reluctant smugglers Jordan McKell and his alien partner are given a chance to pick up some legal trade that is good for their cover as down and out traders in a galactic spiral setting, where the dominant economic power is a monstrous alien corporation with a superior technology. But the little job turns out to be something bigger than anyone suspects! Soon everyone wants a piece of the cargo, even though they don't really know what it is. A quick, fun read...moderate tension, mostly chase and escape maneuverings and a few twisty surprises as the hero and his crew manage to outwit all the bad guys and their thugs. Pretty much a guy book with a smart, attractive, girl who helps out but does not take charge. No sex, but some concern and tension and a little galahad whoop-de-doo as the hero reveals all at the end of the book. Finally the most noble and normal of the sidekicks 'rides off into the sunset' with the chick, her dad and the loot. "
Kitty Shroedinger, Resident Timothy Zahn Scholar

"Jordan McKell, pilot of a ship called Stormy Banks and employee of a huge criminal organization, is hired to fly a ship called the Icarus from Meima to Earth. He is told the cargo is extremely important--and true enough, soon the entire Patth race (who controls the majority of interstellar shipping) are hot on his tail and will stop at nothing to gain control of the Icarus. With half the galaxy after him, a mysterious cargo, and even a murderer on board, Jordan must solve many mysteries before it's too late."
Six Madine, Resident Timothy Zahn Scholar
