Review Summaries
"Case was the one of the best net cowboys, capable of leaving his body and entering the vast data fields of cyberspace, penetrate corporate secrets, and sell to competitors willing to pay his price. Then he made a mistake. He got greedy and stole from one of his employers. They injected him with a mycotoxin that destroyed his talent, confined him to the prison of his flesh. Case travelled to Chiba City in search of a cure, but as time went by and a cure proved impossible he started embracing dangerous street hustles. Then he's approached by a enigmatic stranger named Armitage. He makes Case an offer: an operation to restore his ability to enter cyberspace in exchange for a job. Case accepts, undergoes surgery, and reappears in New York, where he puts his skills to the test. But questions gnaw at his mind. Who is Armitage working for? With the aid of Molly, a bodyguard wired for speed, Case attempts to discover and understand the Articial Intelligence that has been manipulating the entire operation before it can escape into the void. "

"Case, a hacker whose ability to hack has been taken away from him, is offered a chance to take his life back. Now he is in over his neck in a plot involving military technology, espionage, subterfuge, a mad employer and an artificial intelligence known as Neuromancer..."
John Aridi, Resident William Gibson Scholar

"A young computer genius named Case got too greedy doing a job for an ex-employer, when caught, they destroyed his nervous system leaving him to die a slow death, until a new employer recruits him. This new artificial intelligence has what Case needs, that is his health in order to go on living. When he joins forces with a mirror-eyed girl street-samurai, everything changes and the story becomes increasingly chilly. The social conditions, the mentality and the level of intelligence sets the tone for the book's compelling and riveting themes."
linda d'amico, Resident William Gibson Scholar

"A burnt-out hacker and a streetwise badgirl attempt to outwit a psychotic artificial intelligence. Origin of "cyberspace" and font of all cyberpunk, for better or worse."
Adam Greenfield, Resident William Gibson Scholar

"Neuromancer. A book written in 1982 that to this day is a better cyberspace read than most others. From the opening paragraph, i still get chills, 'The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel.'."
steven brown, Resident William Gibson Scholar

"Case's world is turned upside down when he takes a job hacking into a high secrity computer. It's alot more dangerous than he would hav ever imagined."
John Lewis, Resident William Gibson Scholar
