Immortals battle through the ages until there is only one. The last one standing gets the prize which itself is nevery really discussed but the dazzling changes between centuries as the immortals sword fight themselves into extinction makes up for this oversight. Connor MacLeod (Lambert) is the Scottish Highlander who is befriended by another immortal Ramirez (Connery) who teaches him sword fighting and how not to lose his head - the only way an immortal is slain. Clancy Brown is Kurgan, a ruthless and hateful Russian immortal whose CV includes feeding children to ravenous dogs as sport, raping MacLeods wife and killing Ramirez. The film follows the good and evil MacLeod and Kurgan to present day New York for the final confrontation where There Can Be Only One. A slick rock soundtrack from Queen and some great swordplay make this a dazzling and enjoyable romp... shame about the editing though, some poor continuity errors are distracting. This film had 4 sequels, a long running tv series and trading card game as spinoffs.

This is a story of a man (Connor McLeod) who is killed but comes to life as an immortal. The immortals can only be killed by one way and that is by beheading. He learns everything from his so called teacher Ramirez. Connor is in a fight for his life when an old villian shows up to take his head but in the end there can only be one.
