| Review Summary |
Once there was an inventor (Vincent Price) who created a man named Edward (Johnny Depp.)Edward had everything except hands. The inventor died before he could give Edward hands, so Edward had scissors for hands instead. After the death of the inventor, Edward was all alone in the mansion.
That changed one day. A sales representative for Avon, Peg Boggs (Dianne Wiest), decides to go up to the mansion to see if there was anyone who would like to purchase make-up. Instead, she meets Edward. Peg is a very compassionate lady so she takes Edward to live with her and her family.
This changes everything for Edward. He meets many people and falls in love with Peg's daughter, Kim (Winona Ryder.) He is a very artistic man and makes boring hedges into amazing pieces of art. The ladies of the neighborhood are astonished by his talent and soon beg him to give them haircuts. The unique styles he creates soon make him a celebrity. However, there are several people who do not like Edward because of his 'deformity.'
