Review Summaries
"This book tells the story of Kara and Cam, and Brynda and Jek in the Trek Mi Q'an series. Kara Q'ana Tal (daughter of Kyra and Zor from The Empress'New Clothes) has been promised as Cam K'al Ra's sacred mate since she was a few months old. Frightened of her fierce mate, she and her sister Jana flee in Kara's 22nd year, the year she should have been married. They head for Galis, a planet ruled by women. As far as their families and Cam know, however, the transport they were in crashed, and both Jana and Kara perished. Five years later, she is hunting males in the Galian forest. Her sister Dari has left her mate Gio, and in searching for her, Kara's existence is revealed. Cam, with the blessing of Kara's father, the emperor, sets out to track his wayward bride down, capture her and never allow her to leave him again. There is a subplot about Jana and her sacred mate, and a side-trip to the legendary planet Khan-Gor.
Jek Q'an Ri is given orders by the king to find the lost princesses, Jana and Dari. He begins his search on Earth where he meet Brynda Mitchell, a mousy, modern day librarian. Brynda, who does not lead a very exciting life, learns she has cancer and is dying. When Jek claims her, she is horrified. When his liege lord, King Kil (from Enslaved), orders Jek to continue his search on three dangerous third dimension worlds, he obeys but takes Brynda with him. The couple trek through various cultures and experience their sexual customs. Jek, like all the warrior males, falls immediately in love with Brynda, but she is afraid of encouraging his love or returning it when she expects to die soon.
