Review Summary
Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi generals and heroes of the Clone Wars, race onto the first screen in the midst of a fierce spacebattle above Coruscant. Their mission: rescue Supreme Chancellor Palpatine who has been kidnapped by the Separatist droid General Grievious. On Grievious' flagship they confront Count Dooku. After vanquishing the distinguished Sith, young Skywalker kills Dooku at Palpatine's bidding. After escaping, they return to Coruscant.
Anakin reunites with his wife, Senator Padme Amidala, and learns that she's pregnant. He has disturbing visions of her dying in labor. Unfortunately, the Jedi are no help to him. They even ask him to spy on Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, who has long been a mentor and friend to him. Palpatine knows this and turns it to his advantage, further shaking Anakin's belief in the Jedi ideals.
Anakin finds out that Palpatine's a Sith Lord and tells his Jedi masters who continue to underestimate and fear him. Mace Windu and several other Jedi Masters go to confront Palpatine without Anakin. Young Skywalker just can't keep out of it. He ends up killing Windu and Anakin joins Darth Sidious/ Palpatine, hoping to become strong enough with the dark side to save Padme from his visions.
Meanwhile a tip intercepted by clones has sent Obi-wan to hunt down Grievious on the Utapau. There he confronts and kills the droid general. He's just in time to retrieve his lightsaber and almost get himself blasted by his own troops as the Emperor instructs the clones to kill their Jedi commanders.
Anakin, now Vader, leads an attack on the Jedi temple, even slaughtering younglings. Then, his new master sends him to Mustafar to murder the Separatist leaders. His former master and friend, Obi-wan Kenobi, meets him there and they have a fierce lightsaber battle which ends up with young Skywalker/ Darth Vader crippled and quite toasty. Sidious saves his life and has him encased in a life preserving metal suit. Padme does indeed die in childbirth. Obi-wan and Yoda slip into exile. Bail Organa and his wife, the queen of Alderaan, take Padme's newborn daughter and Ben Kenobi delivers young Luke to his aunt and uncle on Tatooine.

Anekin Skywalker, a Jedi Knight, and his mentor, Obi Wan Kenobi, are prime players on a mission to destroy the evil Sith who are a threat to the Empire. Against Jedi rules, Anekin has secretly married Princess Padme. Anekin dreams that Padme will die, a dream he knows will come true, and he cannot bear to lose her. The leader of the Sith convinces him that by learning the powers of the dark side of the force, he can save her. Anekin is torn by his loyalties to Obi Wan and the order of Jedi Knights and his need to save the woman he loves with all his heart. As he is drawn to the dark side, he loses perspective and turns on those he cares about most.

This film is filled with action, starting with a massive space battle over Coruscant between the robot navies of the separatist forces and the clone navy of the Republic. Jedi Knights Anakin Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi board a separatist ship where Chancellor Palpatine is being held captive by Count Dooku. They battle droids, Count Dooku, and the droid general named General Grevious as the ship crashes towards Coruscant. Anakin rescues Palpatine and cuts off Dooku's head, but he doesn't get any respect from his fellow Jedi.

Palpatine turns Anakin against the Jedi. When Samuel Jacksonobi finds out that Palpatine is actually Darth Sidious, he goes to kill Palpatine but Anakin kills him first. Meanwhile, Obi Wan kills General Grevious on a planet of sinkholes. Palpatine orders the clones to kill all the Jedi and they do, except for Obi Wan and Yoda. Yoda has a fierce lightsaber battle with Palpatine/Sidious, which he loses. Yoda runs away to Dagobah.

Meanwhile Padme, who is engorged with her Luke and Leia fetuses, takes Obi Wan to confront Anakin. Anakin smacks her around using the force, and then he fights Obi Wan over a volcano. Anakin goes for a swim in the volcano, with predictable effects.

Padme, who is dying, disgorges her fetuses. Obi Wan gives Leia to Jimmy Smits to raise on Alderaan and gives Luke to Anakin's family on Tattooine--so well hidden that he didn't even need to change Luke's last name of Skywalker!

The movie has a lot of action and a great score from John Williams.
