Review Summaries
"Shipwrecked and adrift, Andrew Braddock (York) arrives at a tiny, uncharted island seemingly inhabited by Dr. Paul Moreau (Lancaster), an outcast geneticist; Montgomery, an alcoholic and sadistic hunter (Davenport); and Maria (Carrera), the beautiful ward of Dr. Moreau. Braddock hears strange noises on the island, and notices that Moreau's servants are very misshapen, rough, almost bestial. Braddock wants off the island immediately, but learns the next supply ship is not due for two years. Eventually, he realizes that Moreau has been experimenting with turning animals into humans, theoretically without any of the savagery. Of course, Moreau's experiments turn on him, and Braddock and Maria try to escape the island. "
