Review Summary
What girl has seven arms, seven hands, and an unlimited capacity for kindness? She's Handy Mandy, the latest heroine to venture into the Land of Oz.

After a ride on a flying rock sends Mandy to the Land of Oz, she meets Nox, a talking Ox, in his quest to find King Kerry, the long-lost boy ruler of Keretaria. Mandy and Nox's adventures take them through several dangerous corners of Oz where they outwit the whirling Topsies of Turn Town and escape the imprisoning rings of the hook-nosed Highlanders. But when Mandy and Nox discover King Kerry is being held prisoner by an evil wizard intent on conquering the Emerald City of Oz, Many has to save him.

Michael Jung, Resident Scholar

One day Mandy, a seven-armed goat girl who lives on Mt. Mern, is blown by an exploding spring across the deadly desert to Oz. She lands in the kingdom of Keretaria, part of the Munchkin Country, and meets Nox, the Royal Ox of Keretaria. The rightful king, young Kerry, was deposed under mysterious circumstances years before, and Nox and Mandy head north to the Gillikan Country to find him. After various odd adventures, they meet Wutz, the King of the Silver Mountain, a wizard who plans to conquer Oz by stealing Glinda's magic book, Ozma's magic picture, and other magical tools. This is a late (1937) Oz book by Thompson, after she had published some dozen post-Baum Oz books.
