Graham Beck was the right hand man of Chicago Mayor Frank Bridges until he failed to go along with the program dictated by the mayor's ally, the Prime Minister of Turkey, Rashid. Graham and his family became marked for termination. Most people except for them have microchips inserted in their foreheads so they are easy to keep track of. The Becks hide in their summer cabin in Tomahawk, Wisconsin. Months pass before they go to Phinelander to test the mood of the country after the disappearance of millions of people due to asteroid colliding with the Earth.
The town like the rest of the country is descending into anarchy and though they meet a woman who shares their values, they quickly return home. They find that Bridges has captured their daughter Mary, who gives away the family location forcing them to move to the home of their new friend in Rhinelander. Graham works out a daring escape plan to be carried out by his son and a family friend. They are successful in their attempt but are tracked back to their new home. After deactivating Mary's nanobot, the family goes to Israel to escape his former boss' henchman, not knowing that Rashid will not rest until Graham is killed.
TAGGED takes place in the near future when Rashid using his company Royal Arab Petroleum buys all the oil reserves as a step to become the leader of the world.
