Review Summaries
"Dr. Janos Rukh (Boris Karloff) is a brilliant scientist who theorizes that a giant meteor hit Africa many millennia ago and brought with it an element stronger than radium. Dr. Benet and Sir Stevens head to the Dark Continent to look for proof of the scientist's claims along with Rukh and his wife and several others. Rukh peels away from the others and discovers the crash location. Curiously the site is still ablaze from the collision long ago. He becomes contaminated by the exposure the result of which is he glows eerily in the dark and he can kill with a touch of his hand. Learning from Rukh of the affliction, an antidote to his condition is formulated by Benet. Rukh returns to his mountain home in Carpathia (where else!) and restores the sight of his long-blinded mother. He is insane at this point from the Radium X and its antidote and seeks revenge on his scientific colleagues in France. He kills Sir Stevens and his wife and causes great mischief and mayhem. Benet too is slain before Rukh gets sick and burns to ashes on the ground."
