Review Summaries
"In this second book, Twig has now become a crew member on the sky ship Stormchaser. He's eager to learn how to fly the ship, but on his first try he accidentally cripples the ship. To pay for the repairs, the captain is forced to go on a quest to find stormphrax, an extremely heavy substance that is used to weigh down the floating city of Sanctaphrax. In order to find stormphrax, Stormchaser and its crew must mark the spot where a bolt of lightning strikes the ground in the Twilight Woods, where it then turns into a solid. The guild that has been making a huge profit from manufacturing chains to anchor Sanctaphrax down don't want the Stormchaser's crew to succeed, and they employ the mutinous quartermaster Slyvo Spleethe to prevent the Stormchaser from succeeding. When the captain refuses to abandon his seemingly doomed sky ship, Twig must take the responsibility of leading the rest of the crew out of the treacherous Twilight Woods, through the deadly Mire, and back to Sanctaphrax, with enough stormphrax to keep Sanctaphrax earthbound."
