Review Summaries
"An airplane carrying Richard Conway (Colman), a British diplomat, and several civilians escaping China crash lands in the deep snows of the Himalayas. Their group is rescued by the people from Shangri-la – a mysterious valley which is protected by the mountains and hidden from the outside world. This place proves a balm for Conway, but he is soon asked by Father Bero (Boyer) to become leader of the community. All his brother, George (York), wants to do is to leave, even if it means ruining paradise. Musical version of the story by James Hilton with an all-star cast. The first film version, made in 1937, is considered a classic. "
