Review Summaries
"Kaye is a sixteen year-old girl who travels constantly with her mother's unsuccessful rock band. Her life is pretty normal until she meets Roiben, the enigmatic knight of the Unseelie Court. Her meeting with Roiben involves her in a struggle between the two faerie courts, and she finds out from her childhood friends, the solitary fey, that she is in fact a pixie that has been unwittingly disguised all her life. She is also told that every seven years the Unseelie Court makes a human sacrifice in exchange for the loyalty of the solitary fey, and if that sacrifice isn't made, the solitary fey are free to do as they chose. Kaye's friends ask her to help them trick the Faerie Queen so that they can be free."
Phoenix Rye, Resident Holly Black Scholar

"In this dark faerie tale, Kaye Fierch, a teenager who has always believed in faeries, discovers that she herself is one, and that she is the sacrifice chosen for the tithe, a blood ceremony made every seven years to bind the solitary fey to the Unseelie Court. Kaye learns to control her glamour, gets help from her fey and human friends, and encounters some nasty beasties, including the Queen of the Unseelie Sidhe. She also finds romance with a dark knight of the Unseelie Court."
